2. Trim the white part of the cat’s claw with a nail cutter. The claw is trimmed to a bend.

Make sure that the blood vessel is not damaged!

 If you accidentally hit a blood vessel, don’t panic. To stop the bleeding, prepare potassium permanganate powder (potassium permanganate) in advance. Take a little powder on a piece of cotton wool or a cotton swab and press it against the claw for a few seconds. The bleeding should stop completely. However, trimming the nails does not relieve the cat of the need to sharpen the claws – after all, this is how the cat removes the dead nail box, so that the claws remain smooth and sharp. Therefore, place scratching posts at home, preferably several. Some owners decide to amputate their claws. You can’t do this! The operation is very painful, and as a result, the cat remains crippled – after all, the first phalanx of the finger is also removed. Most civilized countries have banned this procedure.

How to care for cat paws

1. Check your cat’s paw pads every day to make sure there are no cracks or sores.
2. To keep your cat’s paws clean, wipe them twice a day with a damp cloth. This is important because cats often lick themselves, and litter and dirt stuck to their paws can enter the gastrointestinal tract.
